Watchful Eye salutes our Elected Officials who continue to Keep HIV/AIDS in the forefront
On Wednesday, November 28th, Watchful kicked off New York City World AIDS Day with Speaker Corey Johnson, Majority Leader Councilwoman Laurie Cumbo, Councilwoman Alicka-Ampry Samuel, Assemblywoman Latrice Walker, Assemblywoman Tremaine Wright, Guillermo Chacon-CEO of the Latino Commission on AIDS, Rev. Dr. Robert Waterman and countless faith leaders, community stakeholders and People Living With AIDS.

West Indian Day Parade 2017
For its 2nd year, Watchful Eye partnered with Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York Delegation at the West Indian Day Parade up Eastern Parkway. Banners and Posters encouraging people to Get Tested Know Your Status were displayed everywhere. Gov Cuomo, Mayor De Blasio, NYC Council Speaker Mark-Verito as well as all Elected Officials and participants were saluted with the Watchful Eye Red Ribbons.

Watchful Eye is committed to bringing awareness to individuals of all cultures that HIV/AIDS is 100% preventable. We are excited to partner with our elected officials who also believe in the work that we are doing and the importance of educating communities about this disease.
Public Service Announcements could be heard by the hundreds of thousands of people up and down the parkway. Truly the best outreach and prevention campaign we have ever conducted. A special moment came when Kan Cobra Martial Arts Academy and Members of the Speakers Bureau presented the Mayor with the Red Ribbon. Chief Jeff Maddrey wore also wore his Red Ribbon proudly. A video interview was conducted with several elected officials and community leaders who shared their history with working with Watchful Eye and HIV/AIDS prevention. A memorable day in the history of fighting AIDS in
NYC.
